Thousands Need a Helping Hand

In rural and unreached communities in South Africa many children and youth grow up facing daily challenges that limit their ability to thrive. Poverty, food insecurity, overcrowded schools, and limited access to quality educational resources create a cycle of disadvantage that is difficult to break without external support.

Many learners go to school hungry, lack academic support at home, and are exposed to environments affected by unemployment, substance abuse, and violence. These conditions deeply affect their learning potential, mental wellbeing, and future prospects. Without structured, supportive programmes that provide not only education but also nutrition, mentorship, and a safe space, these young people are at high risk of falling through the cracks.

They don’t lack talent or ambition only opportunity. A helping hand in the form of a meal, a workshop, or a word of encouragement can make a world of difference. By investing in these children, we give them a real chance to dream, grow, and break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their communities.

Charity

This arm of Impact Foundation Africa focuses on addressing the immediate needs of vulnerable children and youth in rural and under-resourced communities. Through targeted support such as meal provision, school supplies, uniforms, and access to psychosocial services, this arm ensures that no child is left behind due to poverty or hardship. By meeting these basic needs, the foundation creates a stable foundation from which learners can fully participate in educational and developmental programmes, enabling long-term impact and real change in their lives.

Support

The educational support arm of Impact Foundation Africa is dedicated to empowering learners through academic enrichment, life skills training, and career guidance. This includes afterschool tutoring, holiday programmes, mentorship, exam preparation, and workshops on topics such as financial literacy, mental health, and digital skills. By working closely with schools and educators in under-resourced areas, this arm aims to bridge learning gaps, build confidence, and help young people make informed decisions about their futures ultimately improving educational outcomes and breaking cycles of poverty.

Mentorship

The mentorship and teacher training arm of Impact Foundation Africa focuses on strengthening the support systems around children by equipping both mentors and educators with the tools they need to guide, inspire, and uplift learners. This arm provides structured mentorship programmes that connect youth with positive role models, as well as capacity-building workshops for teachers on topics such as trauma-informed teaching, inclusive education, and learner engagement strategies. By investing in both mentors and educators, we foster nurturing, informed, and resilient learning environments where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Training

The teacher training and workshops arm of Impact Foundation Africa plays a vital role in preparing educators to effectively support learners, especially those in their final years of high school. This includes specialised training sessions and workshops focused on curriculum delivery for Grade 11 and Matric, exam preparation techniques, psychosocial support, and strategies for identifying and assisting struggling learners. By equipping teachers with practical tools and refreshed methodologies, we help ensure that they are not only confident in delivering the curriculum but also capable of motivating and guiding learners to succeed in their final examinations and beyond.
